I have gone through pages after pages in the app store looking at each and every notebook app that there was to offer. Some of them are free, some of them have both a free and a paid version, and some of them are so expensive I find it hard to believe that so many people have bought the app. Chapters for the iPad is one of the few that had the features that I am looking for in a notebook app, and is available at an affordable price. At just $3.99 it is a fierce competitor with all of the apps out there.
As a college student I can think of a million ways I plan to use my iPad in order to be a better student in this upcoming semester. I plan to use it to keep track of what I have to do, when things are due, and of course where my next class may be. The number one thing I plan to use my iPad for? Taking notes, of course! I plan on eliminating the use of paper notebooks as much as possible and using my iPad to take my notes, and then I will email them to myself and print them. This will not only help me be more organized as a student, but I will be able to be a little bit more detailed because I will not be condensing them to save my hands the pain of handwriting the notes.
Chapters for the iPad is a notebook app that allows you to manage as many notebooks as you need, and it doesn’t have a limit to how much you can have in each notebook. When it comes to exporting your work it is a very simple task. You can email the entire notebook to yourself, export it to Google Docs, or you can export it as a website. Customizing each notebook is very simple. You are given a few options to make each notebook different from the last, but at the same time it is simple. The customizations are nothing to extravagant. You are able to change the font, the font size, and four different shades of colors from light grey to black. You are able to adjust whether there is a time stamp or not.
When it comes to adding photos it is really easy. After you add the photos you can pinch the picture with two fingers in order to resize it, or rotate it. This allows you to add full-sized photos to the notebook, or you can always keep them smaller and click to view them in a large size. Adding photos is as easy as clicking a button, selecting a photo, and it is automatically added to the notebook. In order to delete a photo, you just double tap it and then select the trash can button. It is that easy!
Chapters for the iPad is a great app, and it is worth the money it costs to buy it. At a price of just $3.99 it gives you all of the key features a notebook app should have, and it does not go over the top with it. One of my favorite things about this app is it keeps it simple. Chapters works in both orientations, and is easy to use. Definitely give this app a try, and I promise you that you will not regret it!
