The Wii U, Nintendo’s next generation console due out sometime in 2012, was just unveiled at this years E3.  While not much is known when it comes to spec’s just yet, we have learned as of recent that the GPU inside the Wii U could very well be similar to the Radeon R770.  If thats the case it should be able to handle DirectX 10, which means its very much possible that the Wii U will be able to pump out better graphics than the Xbox 360 and PS3, maybe not initially, but in time as developers learn the system.

Exciting news for Nintendo fans, but at the same time, similar graphics card’s for the PC were around in 2008/2009, and if MS or Sony announce and/or release new console’s within 2 years, the Wii U will once again be in last place when it comes to specifications.  Its not like graphics mean everything though, just ask Nintendo from 2006 through now on their Wii sales.
