At CES 2012, continued its leadership in USB charging with its most wide-ranging product line to date, including the award-winning USB Wall Plate Charger that converts any dual standard outlet into two USB charging outlets and single standard outlet…simply by plugging it in.  The USB Wall Plate Charger is the winner of the “Best of Innovations” award at the 2012 Consumer Electronics Show, joining a host of other honored innovative products from the company. More information after the break.

The new USB charging line-up also includes a Night Glow USB Home & Travel charger with an amber indicator that glows when your device is charging, and a full-function dual USB Charging Clock Radio.  In an era of expensive, sometimes disposable personal electronics, RCA believes that smart design and great value are more relevant than ever, because the products that fit your life today should have a place in it tomorrow.

In 2010, one in four US households used mobile phones only. That works out to roughly 300 million phones to charge, and if you factor in tablets and other smart devices the total moves closer to 500 million products that need to be charged on a daily basis,” stated David Geise, President of Audiovox Accessories Corporation. “This market is not going away anytime soon. As a leader in power products, we are committed to deliver unique, reliable and convenient devices that fit consumer lifestyles and tastes.

“Best of Innovation” Award Winning USB Wall Plate Charger:

Leading the 2012 line-up of RCA power products is the “Best of Innovations” award-winning USB Wall Plate Charger.  Charge your portable devices anywhere and everywhere in your home or office…literally anywhere there is an outlet.  Set up takes seconds: just plug it in and you’ve turned a standard AC outlet into a 2-port, rapid charging outlet for portable devices along with a single standard AC outlet.  And because the RCA USB Wall Plate Charger is designed to fit in seamlessly and look like a standard outlet, you can leave it in place permanently—no searching for the charger any more.  It comes in almond (WP2UAR) and white (WP2UWR).  Both are available now at most major national big box hardware and electronic retailers and carry a suggested retail price of $19.99.

Night Glow USB Home & Travel Charger:

Every business traveler faces two challenges at night: the pitch-black hotel room and the power-hungry Smartphone. Now RCA has a solution for both: the Night-Glow USB home and travel charger. A light blue ring of soft light on the charger provides just the right amount of illumination to navigate the strange and unfamiliar territory of a hotel room, while a single USB port provides power and charging for that crucial bit of the office you take with you everywhere you go: the Smartphone. A second amber-colored ring of light shows you that your phone is charging and goes out when it has a full charge. The USBNLTR will be available in spring of 2012, with a suggested retail price of $19.99.

USB Home Nightlight Chargers:

You need access to power for your mobile device. And you need light at night in the bedroom, bathroom, kitchen…practically anywhere in the house. The RCA USB Home Nightlight Charger solves both problems! With a single USB port for charging Smartphones and other portable devices, and an LED nightlight with auto light sensor that turns the light on and off automatically as needed, the USB home nightlight charger is perfect for every room of the house. The USBNLT1R (White), USBNLT2R (Red), USBNLT3R (Blue) and USBNLT4R (Green) will be available in spring of 2012, with a suggested retail price of $16.99.

Clock Radio w/ Dual USB Charging, Tray & Cable Management:

Mobile devices need to recharge—usually all night, every night. But typical nightstands offer very limited real estate and no outlet space for charging. RCA provides a simple solution, with the RC117 Clock Radio with Two-Port USB Charging and Tray. The RC117 offers two USB charging connections, a storage tray on top for your devices while they charge, and cable management under the tray for a clean, cable-free nightstand. The RC117 will be available in spring of 2012, with a suggested retail price of $49.99.

“Our engineering and design philosophy has a long, distinguished history. And our newest USB home and travel chargers follow the same guiding principles as our very first products.  We started with a commitment to our customers, quality, affordability and utility. …and we continue to deliver on that commitment,” concluded Geise.
