
What Google is doing now certainly will backfire at them with consumers. Google is currently on a mission to embed all of their products together and it seems they are trying to do this now with Gmail and Google Wallet. It’s basically a really clever cross selling technique that Google is trying to perform.
So now when you create a new Gmail account, it will ask you create a Google Wallet account. Of course, this feature is in beta testing. The downside of this, is people might think that Gmail isn’t a free service and abort the entire account creation process. Do you really want to give your credit card information to Google after all of their latest privacy issues? I don’t.
