Sad news, folks – the PS Vita won’t play Playstation 2 or 3 games. Sony recently posted about this in the Vita FAQ on the Playstation blog, saying “PlayStation does not have plans to make PS Vita compatible with PS3 or PS2 titles at this point.” They have said that support for PSOne games is ‘coming’, but no additional details available as to when that is happening.
