Nothing is worse right now that going out in the morning to a freezing cold car. Finally you break down and decide to get a remote starter. Question is, what one do you get. Why not keep reading and check out my review of the CrimeStopper LC-4 Cool Start Remote Starter.

Remote starters are becoming more and more popular as we relize how much we hate getting into a cold or hot car. The Cool Start Remote Start System from CrimeStopper solves that problem. Newer cars have low current ignitons switches, and the LC-4 is made just for that.Lets take a look at it.

The box comes with all the standard accessories, 2 Remotes, Remote Starter, Wiring, an Antenna, and Installation Directions. Depending on what vehicle you are purchasing this for you may also need to purchase a Immobilizer bypass moduel. These can be easily found on Amazon. No first thing i must say is you are messing with electricity and your source of transportation. If you are unsure of what you are doing take the SmartStart Remote Starter to a local car audio shop to have them install it.

Cool Start Remote

The LC-4 has a range of 1500 feet so you can start your car from the comfort of your home, workplace, or shopping center. The Remote has five buttons, Lock, Unlock, Trunk Release,Vehicle Select, and Start. With the addidion of a extra data module you can also get and extra 4 aux buttons to control up too four other devices on your vehicle such as sliding doors, a back window, or even your gas cap. The remote also has a blue LED that confirms your button press. The LED on the remote also works in conjunction with your parking lights to diagnose problems with your remote start system.

Starting your car is as simple as the push of a button. Just press the start button and your car will attempt to start. With a successful start your parking lights will come on and your doors will lock. Should your car fail to start, the remote starter will automatically try to start your car 2 more times. After the third failed attempt the LC-4 will not try to automatically start your car again.

You can set the amount of time our vehicle runs using the remote starter. You can choose between 5-30 minutes. Please check with your local authorities to see if your town has limits on the amount of time a unattended vehicle is alloud to run.

When entering you car, like any other remote starter, you need to unlock your door and the put your key in the ignition and turn the key to start before stepping on the brake pedal or your car will shut off.

The Smart Start LC-4 is versatile as it will work on Automatic as well as standard vehicles. It also features a vallet mode, Idle down mode ( which allows your vehicle to run for up to 30 minutes after you exit your car, also has the option to run indeffinetly), the option to automaticall start your car every so often to prevent fluid freeze up in extreme cold conditions. Similar to the idle down mode, the LC-4 has a Turbo Timer Mode which lets the car run for 5 minutes after you exit your vehicle.

The LC-4 does come with safety features such as vallet mode, (which allows you to disable your remote start when having your car parked by a valet), a hood safety switch that disables the remote start when the hood is opened (helps you keep all 10 digits), and if you have two vehicles you can purchase two of the CrimeStopper Cool Start LC-4 units, have them installed in both cars, and have one remote function for both vehicles. No more needing to carry around one remote for each car.

The CrimeStopper Cool Start LC-4 is a nice remote starter that with a quick search is shown to cost under $70. Depending on where you live and what shops around you cost, will determine your final cost. This is a great addition to your vehicle if you have been looking for a remote start, or even just having remote entry into your vehicle.
