Raise of hands. Anyone else almost see this coming? According to The Telegraph the claims made by Blackberry CEO Thorsten Heins that Blackberry Z10 phones are selling out could be far from the truth. Talking recently about sales in the UK Mr Heins has said this about the phone,
“White is sold out already. The black is hard to stock up again. It’s very encouraging.”
But staff at Phones 4U, the exclusive UK supplier of the white Z10, said that they have not sold out of the handsets. Two towns in the UK, Leeds and Manchester, have stores that when contacted said they have “loads” of phones left.
Here is the deal. When you read articles anywhere about how well the new Blackberry might be selling, lets face facts here. It could be selling well in places but that will not last long. Blackberry die-hards have not had a new phone to purchase for years. This means most, if not all, are well out of contracts so they are able to upgrade right away. In reality, once these die-hards around the world grab their new z10 or q10 sales are going to drop, significantly.
Mr. Heins will probably have a lot of questions that need answered for shareholders out there.
