Earlier this year T-Mobile shook up the US mobile market by getting rid of subsidies on phones, IE pay full price up front or put a little money down, and in return you did not have to sign a two year contract. All you had to do was either pay off the full price of the phone up front or over installments in your monthly payment. The second phase brought about the Jump program. Using “Jump” a T-Mobile user would be able to trade in their phone for a new one twice per year for an extra $10 per month. Phase three will be announced next week and we got the jump on just what you will be seeing from the folks at team magenta.
Currently you can get 500MB, 2.5GB, and unlimited data for $50, $60, and $70 per month respectively. We are being told the $50 plan is going to 2GB, the $60 plan is going to 5GB and the $70 plan is sticking to unlimited data. These new plans for the price absolutely give ATT and Verizon a run for their money, with T-Mobile coverage getting better thanks to added spectrum and very nice LTE speeds in launched markets.
We are looking forward to seeing if they have any other surprises next week.
