Comcast and Time Warner Merger

Comcast has announced today that they plan to buy 100% of Time Warner Cables stocks for $45.2 billion.

“This transaction will create a leading technology and innovation company, differentiated by its ability to deliver ground-breaking products on a superior network while leveraging a national platform to create operating efficiencies and economies of scale.”

The question is, will the appropriate authorities approve this merger, that many will argue, will create a monopoly in the business.
