iPhone jailbreaker George Hotz has created a means by which OtherOS support can be restored to PlayStation 3 systems. The video above, made by the hacker, shows the previously removed feature running on the firmware version 3.21 which marked the end of Sony’s support for it. The hack that Hotz refers to as “custom firmware,” can be installed without breaking open the PS3. He expressed that it may even add the functionality on PS3 Slim units that have never had it before. On my way to work this morning I opened up my Slacker Radio on my Blackberry for some tunes to wake me up. Upon doing so, I noticed that there was an update for the application. I use Slacker mainly on my desktop as they offer free streaming. It’s a great application both on mobile devices and on desktop pc’s. Slacker is available for iPhones, Droid’s, Logitech Phones, Windows OS, Palm OS’s, Sony Blu-Ray Players and of course on Blackberry’s. We all know that Verizon plans to launch the HTC Incredible soon, but the carrier has been very quiet on the details of the device.
